The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) celebrates its birthday annually on September 29, known as National VFW Day. Founded on September 29, 1899, by 13 Spanish-American War veterans in Columbus, Ohio, the organization marks its 127th anniversary in 2026. It is the nation’s largest organization of combat veterans.
